SUBJECT :           NEGOTIATIONS/DIISCUSSIONS ON RETIREES/PENSIONERS’

ISSUES OF PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS WITH UNIONS/ASSOCIATIONS.

Dear Sir,

We have great pleasure in introducing ourselves as the apex level organisation of the Pensioners and retirees’ associations in our country. The NCCPA and its affiliates the Punjab National Bank Pensioners Association are registered under the trade Union Act. Shri Shiv Gopal Misra, presently the General Secretary of All India Railwaymen Federation and the National Secretary Staff Side of the JCM is our President.  The undersigned is a standing committee member of the JCM National Council, Government of India, where all issues pertaining to the working central Government employees and also of the retired pensioners of the Government of India are subjected to discussion.  Besides the pensioners of the Central and State Governments, the associations in Banks, public sector undertakings, and even of the private sector, wherever the pension facility has been extended are affiliated to this organisation, called the National Co-ordination Committee of pensioners Associations.  The Punjab National Bank Pensioners Association is one of our affiliates from the Banking sector.

It has been brought to our notice by our affiliate the PNB Pensioners Association that the Indian Bank Association has commenced discussion with all the stake holders to revise the pension emoluments, medical facilities etc of the  employees who are retired from various banks. We welcome the initiative taken by the Indian Bank Association in this regard.

However, we are informed that while   discussions have commenced with the representatives of the Bank employees, the representatives of various Bank Pensioners Association have not been invited for such a discussion.  Since this pertains to the emoluments of the pensioners, it is but right that their views are heard before you arrive at conclusions.

In the circumstances, we shall be grateful if you will cause consultation with the Bank Pensioners Associations to elicit their views in the matter.  We shall also be grateful if you will kindly include the NCCPA representatives in the discussions as they will be able to provide you with the details of the benefits conferred upon the pensioners of various sectors to enable the Indian Bank Association to take a balanced view in the matter.

We shall be thankful for favour of an immediate and positive response from you,

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

 Sd/-

Secretary General.
