Dear Comrades,

            As you are aware, the Staff Side secretary, National Council, JCM had written to all Political parties requesting them to include in their manifesto their respective stand on the question of bringing back the Old Pension scheme in place of the new contributory pension scheme introduced for all Central Government employees recruited after 1.1.2004.You may see the full text thereof  in our March issue Journal.  You may also access the said letter from the NJCM  website. 

            The manifesto of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)  has been released yesterday.  We extract hereunder the relevant portion regarding pension in their manifesto, which you will find is in consonance with our demand. 

• Scrapping of the “New Pension Scheme” and the PFRDA Act and putting in place a benefit-defined pension scheme with adequate funding by employers and government for all workers/employees ensuring at least a pension of 50 per cent of last pay drawn with indexation.
